Workshop Descriptions & Instructions:

  • FAFSA Workshop
    • UH Maui College financial aid experts will be assisting students and parents with completing their FAFSA application and getting students started on applying for UH Scholarships.
    • Please bring the following documents with you (listed items are needed for both the parent and the student):
      1. Personal Information (legal name, DOB, Social Security #)
      2. 2018 Federal Tax Information
      3. 2018 W-2 Forms
      4. Current Balances: Checking/savings account balances and assets (excluding retirement plans and life insurance)
      5. Email address and password (required for FSA ID)
  • Kamehameha Schools Post-High School Scholarships
    • Learn about the Kamehameha Schools Nā Ho‘okama a Pauahi Need-Based scholarship & other KS scholarships as well as the Pauahi Foundation scholarship application process and requirements from a KS representative.
    • Kamehameha Schools representatives will also be assisting students and parents with completing their CSS Profile applications and/or ancestry verification. Please bring the following documents with you:
      1. 2018 Income/Tax Information
      2. Bring ORIGINAL birth certificate of the applicant and an ancestor born in Hawaiʻi in 1959 or earlier. The original birth certificate must have Hawaiian Ancestry listed.
  • Hawaiʻi Community Foundation Scholarship Application
    • Hawaiʻi Community Foundation is one of the largest scholarship funders in Hawaiʻi . Learn about the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation scholarship application process, its requirements and tips on how to successfully submit your HCF scholarship application from a HCF representative.
  • Scholarships 101
    • Learn different budgeting tips when it comes to being a college student as you plan and prepare for the start of school, including the different types of financial aid that is available. It also includes how to prepare for scholarship season as It approaches and how to get ahead!
  • Personal Statement
    • Most grant and scholarship programs request a personal statement as part of the application process. Personal statements are an important part of your scholarship application. Learn what’s included in a personal statement and tips on how to write a well-written essay.
  • UH Common Scholarship Workshop
    • Learn about the University of Hawaii System scholarships and its application process, the requirements needed and also get a start on the application. The UH System Scholarships are open to students who are admitted as a regular student attending any of the ten campuses of the University of Hawaiʻi System. This one online scholarship application will apply you for both the UH Maui College and UH System wide Scholarship Application.
  • Financial Aid 101
    • Learn about the different costs when it comes to being a first time college student as you plan and prepare for your first year as well as continuing students. You will also learn about the different types of financial aid that is available and how you can prepare your child and family to maximize your financial aid award.
