Workshop Descriptions and Instructions:

  • Parent Workshop & Scholarship Search Strategies
    • An NHEA representative will be providing important information for parents preparing their children for college.
  • How Do I Budget for College?
    • UH Maui College will be conducting a basic budgeting workshop. Students will be introduced to some introductory topics related to budgeting such as:
      1. Defining a budget
      2. Understanding why budgets are important
      3. Developing a strategy/goal
      4. Introduction to the budgeting process
      5. Anticipating budget problems
  • Personal Statement
    • UH Maui College will be conducting a personal statement workshop. Students will have the opportunity to draft a general personal statement. Most grant and scholarship programs request a personal statement as part of the application process.
  • Kamehameha Schools – CSS Profile Workshop
    • Kamehameha Schools representatives will be assisting students and parents with completing their CSS Profile applications and/or ancestry verification. Please bring the following documents with you:
      1. 2018 Income/Tax Information
      2. Bring ORIGINAL birth certificate of the applicant and an ancestor born in Hawaiʻi in 1959 or earlier. The original birth certificate must have Hawaiian Ancestry listed.
  • FAFSA Completion, Line-by-Line
    • UH Maui College financial aid experts will be assisting students and parents with completing their FAFSA application and getting students started on applying for UH Scholarships. Please bring the following documents with you (listed items are needed for both the parent and the student):
      1. Personal Information (legal name, DOB, Social Security #),
      2. 2018 Federal Tax Information,
      3. 2018 W-2 Forms,
      4. Current Balances: Checking/savings account balances and assets (excluding retirement plans and life insurance),
      5. Email address and password (required for FSA ID).
